An “operational audit” looks at the processes and systems that support the journal ecosystem, including the often conflicting expectations of key stakeholders — from authors, reviewers and editors to supporting staff, society leadership and publisher.

Recently, Copyright Clearance Center hosted a webinar on best practices in society publishing with experienced publishing consultant Kathey Alexander, who began advising medical and nursing societies on their publishing programs in 2001, after spending 20 years in scholarly publishing.
