A venerable blog site covering all aspects of digital publishing, Teleread posts on a host of topics from e-readers and other physical devices to innovative virtual libraries. A recent item documented the curious repercussions of Amazon’s return policy – for e-books. For twenty years, in fact, Teleread has served the publishing and reading communities as a go-to source for news and commentary.
A seasoned freelance reporter, Dan Eldridge has filed from around the globe on a host of subjects, spanning business, music, real estate and travel. Just a month ago, he joined the ranks of the full-timers as TeleRead’s editor-in-chief. He spoke recently with CCC’s Chris Kenneally about important changes to the site as well as opportunities for contributions from publishing pundits and industry bloggers.
In addition to his Teleread role, Dan Eldridge is Managing Editor for the Consumer Technology Publishing Group, both owned by the North American Publishing Company. Formerly the Pittsburgh City Paper‘s music editor, Dan Eldridge has worked as the Philadelphia Weekly‘s copy editor; as the development news editor at Flying Kite, an online news magazine that documents the growth of the new economy in the Greater Philadelphia area; and he was the founding editor of Young Pioneers, a magazine about independent travel culture that the Utne Reader nominated for an Independent Press Award. Dan is the author of Moon Pittsburgh (Avalon Travel), nominated for a Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Award, and is co-author of four Lonely Planet guidebooks (Turkey, Southeast Asia, the Philippines and New England.
