Calvin ReidAward-winning and bestselling authors will crowd the stage on May 30 for the annual author breakfast panel at BookExpo 2019, reports Calvin ReidPublishers Weekly senior editor.

“ReedPop has tapped MSNBC TV host and political commentator Rachel Maddow to host its annual breakfast panel,” he tells CCC’s Chris Kenneally.

As PW reported on Tuesday, National Book Award for nonfiction winner Ta-Nehisi Coates will discuss the forthcoming publication of his first novel, The Water Dancer; New Yorker staff writer Malcolm Gladwell will preview his forthcoming nonfiction work Talking to Strangers; crime novelist and comics writerMarjorie Liu will outline the creation of Monstress (with artist Sana Takeda), her three-volume Eisner Award-winning graphic novel series; and acclaimed crime writer Karin Slaughter will discuss her new thriller The Last Widow, the latest work in her Will Trent series.

Also this week, PW launched a biweekly email newsletter The Fanatic, including features and reviews on graphic novels and comic books. Reid is the newsletter’s editor as well as host of the comics podcast series More to Come.

At the Earth2 comics shop in Sherman Oaks, Calif., co-owners Susan Avallone and Carr D’Angelo flank legendary comics writer and editor Marv Wolfman.
